Welcome to Medic’s Football! By reading this, you are taking the first step on a five (or six) year journey with Galenicals Football Club. A journey of spiritual discovery that will take you to the heartland of Wales, the toilets of Bunker and even, the North of England. We are a very welcoming club focused on good football and even better socials. We have plenty of football going on with an intramural league on Wednesdays against teams from other courses and halls, a fine Sunday league playing local teams, Monday 6-a-side and regional NAMS league, playing other local medical school teams. We also have an annual sports exchange with Nantes Medical School, varsity against Cardiff Medical School, and NAMS (the national medical school’s football tournament) – this always promises a quality long weekend away. If you aren’t all about football we host lively socials weekly to fortnightly so any social members are more than welcome!

Feeling unfit to practice? UBHMHC welcomes medic hockey players of all abilities, from complete beginners to wannabe Kate Walshes. We compete in a mixed intramural league every Sunday, play fixtures against local sides, and train every week at the Badminton School to ensure you’ve got better ball-handling skills than a urologist. We’re an ambitious club and are always looking to expand and establish ourselves in South West hockey. We have regular socials to develop strong team bonds and even stronger dance moves, and you’ll have a ball at the Christmas and End of Season dinners. The medics hockey community extends far beyond the walls of Bristol, and we take part in varsity, tours and national medical school tournaments including NAMS, a manic weekend of balls, boogie and bonding. Bristol medics hockey is friendly, fun and funky so whether you've been playing hockey for years and looking to keep your hand in, or you're searching for something new, come join us!

Training times and venue: 6:30-8pm, Badminton School, BS9 3BA

BUMS on the Run is a casual mixed ability running group that does social runs on Wednesdays at 5:30pm from College Green or Sunday runs at 10am at different locations each week. We have two groups: beginners for those who have never run before and want to give it a try and intermediates for those who have run before and want to improve their running technique or simply run with a group. We have England Athletics qualified Run Leaders to give tailored running advice and help our members achieve their own personal goals. Throughout the year we have running workshops and lectures on things such as running nutrition, dealing with injury and sports psychology. We have a Christmas fun run followed by a society meal. As a society we enter the Bath-half with subsidised entry. Membership is £10 for the year. Contact us at with any questions

This is the society/ trip for any of you medics keen to ski during your time at uni! Because of the timing of exams our trip runs at Christmas meaning it does not impact on exams after Easter at all! Last year we went to Tignes for a week of snow and copious amounts of apres for the very reasonable £468. We are now planning our next trip so make sure you join the BUMS facebook group to stay up to date with all the developments!
