How does the service work?

  • All students are offered a personal meeting at the start of the programme. After that, students with concerns can contact the adviser as they need to. The advice service has a dedicated area on Blackboard, with information on many issues affecting medical students, study skills resources and an e-booking calendar
  • The adviser can provide advice and guidance on a range of support and programme related issues including MB ChB curriculum structure, MB ChB and University regulations and procedures, extenuating circumstances, accommodation, finance and disability issues.
  • The adviser works with students to resolve issues, but if necessary, you will be directed to the most appropriate person or service.

The service is confidential, as far as is possible – sometimes it’s in your interests for people to know what’s going on, sometimes not.

No query is insignificant. If it’s worrying you, it’s important to us
