We are now booking places on the long awaited Bristol vs Cardiff Surgical Exchange on Saturday 14th November. The day runs from 2pm and consists of an afternoon of hands-on skills teaching including suturing, surgical knot tying and surgical simulation including laparoscopy provided by Limbs and Things.

Pizza will then be provided free of charge followed by two 45 minute talks from Mr Dave Pothier, ENT and Professor Gordon Bannister, Orthopaedics. Their talks are entitled: Aiming for and successfully landing a surgical career; and The Qualities of a good Surgeon. Anyone who has heard them speak before will
know how entertaining they both are!

We will be joined by Cardiff University Surgical Society and after the talks we will be heading out on a bar crawl ending up in Bunker with a que jump and £1 off entry before 11pm. The idea is that you are allotted an exchange partner from Cardiff and you are expected to put them up for the night (let them crash on your floor!). In return, they will put you up when we go on the return trip to Cardiff after Christmas.

The event is being held in the lecture theatre on level 9 of the BRI. It is free for members of SCRUBS. If you are not yet a member, you can join on the day for £2.

You can book your place by emailing your name, year group (1st year, 2nd year etc) and how many people you are prepared to put up to committee-scrubs@bristol.ac.uk, please book early to avoid disappointment.
