Mens Rugby

The UBHRFC (United Bristol Hospitals RFC) are the Medics rugby team of Bristol University. We train twice a week and play on Saturday afternoons. If you want to take your rugby seriously without being under pressure to compromise your studies, then this is the club for you.

With the help of our latest coach and previous captains, the last three years have seen the club progress into a quality playing outfit in both standard of rugby and squad size. After the success of last season, we have been promoted into the Bristol and Gloucester Region Premier League, as well as winning the NAMS plate. Our goal for the upcoming season is to reach the final of the NAMS cup competition and finally knock Cardiff Medicals off their perch!  So we encourage all enthusiastic freshers, of all abilities, to come along and continue to drive the club forward!

The UBHRFC is not just about rugby however; our legendary socials are a defining factor in what makes us stand out from other university sports teams. The illustrious post-match socials are a fantastic way to consume in celebration of victory (or mourn defeat) with your team mates, before heading to Lounge to finish the night in a blaze of glory. There are many events on the social calendar throughout the year provided by the Galenicals committee and ourselves to enjoy including welcome drinks, sports club dinners and the Nantes exchange. Joining the UBHRFC allows you to form invaluable friendships whilst playing great rugby and will inevitably play a huge part in your life at Bristol, a decision which you won’t regret!
