Galenicals Shows
Bristol University has a flourishing drama department with a number of acting and performance societies, in which many medics take part. In addition to this, we also put on our own in-house productions every year, including:
- Pre-Clinical Revue (March)
- Clinical Revue (March)
- Clicendales (March)
- Medics Drama (February)
It’s a brilliant way to make friends and meet students in other years and most medics end up get involved with a show or two during their time at Bristol.
There’s always opportunities to get something new going, too, so if you’re interested in writing or direction, keep your eye on the emails.
About the Shows
- Pre-Clinical Revue (March)
Written, produced and performed by students, for students, about the staff! The pre-clinical review is the highlight of the year for all pre-clinical students, and the majority of clinical students!Combining witty jokes, imperious acting skills, the odd song, impeccable impressions and a lot of banter with the audience, the Pre-Clinical review is a night not to be missed. For the best experience get involved! Everyone that auditions gets a part, FACT. Will it raise you up to a different level from where you can look down on your peers? Probably. Will it give you valuable points on your MTAS form? NO! Will it be the best thing you ever did in first year? Absolutely!
So look out for the Pre-Clinical Review coming to a stage near you. We’ll be in your lectures soon to tell you all about it!
- Clinical Revue (March)
As with the preclinical revue, this is an opportunity to hit back at some of the lecturers and the more ridiculous aspects of clinical medicine. - Clicendales (March)
CLICendales is something that sets us apart from other med schools. It is one, if not the biggest, event of the year having sold out the O2 academy in Bristol for the past three years. It’s an all medic, non-stop dancing extravaganza showcasing Bristol medical school’s hottest stripping and dancing talent, with all proceeds going to CLIC Sargent, the UK’s leading children’s cancer charity. This year’s CLICendales is set to be the biggest and best ever, so don’t miss out.
- Medics Drama (February)
