DHB – The Dolphin House Bar

To the new freshers, the DHB is a confusing concept. To second years, many are aware of the joys it brought to the clinical years, but now know the DHB as the student common room at the BRI. To the rest, the Dolphin House Bar was our privilege, our novelty and once our own bar!

Now, “The New DHB” is referred to as a boozing venue, skilled in the art of concocting the infamous “Agent Orange” deadly spirit pint, serving cheap beverages and being staffed by the DHB reps Katie Wimble and Steve Lindley. Such as the presenter on Have I Got News For You, the venue has seen different hosts such as the Mandela Bar, The Medics Clinical Ball 2009 and most recently the Bank Tavern. Upcoming events include the Black Bag Winter Launch Party 2009, Xmas Break Up drinks and The Medics Ball 2010, with many more planned.

“DHB Common Room”, however, is still our space. Anyone can book the common room for meetings, conferences, training, evening events etc by emailing bar@galenicals.org.uk stating the time and date of the booking. If you wish to borrow Galenicals’ projector and speaker system we can give you the code to the locker to access it. Affiliated medic groups, such as Sport Teams and Medsin societies can have a locker in the new Galenicals’ store room on request.
