Academy Guides
One of the largest adjustments when entering clinical medicine at Bristol is getting used to the academy system. In third year, this typically takes the form of one Bristol placement, and one non-Bristol placement, each for two teaching blocks. In fourth and fifth year, the placement system tends to be slightly less predictable.
Since we know how confusing it is to not know what’s waiting in an academy, what you need to take to each accommodation etc. we thought we’d compile a (fairly) comprehensive list of what we know about the adademies. If you’ve got something to add, or if you’ve noticed any errors, email webmaster@galenicals.org.uk.
Galenicals operate an academy rep system, with representatives elected throughout the year. The reps deal with ents within each academy, as well as liaising with Galenicals and academy staff about issues which may arise.
