One of the largest adjustments when entering clinical medicine at Bristol is getting used to the academy system. In 3rd year, this typically takes the form of one Bristol placement, and one non-Bristol placement, each for two teaching blocks. In 4th and 5th year, the placement system tends to be slightly less predictable.

Since we know how confusing it is to not know what’s waiting in an academy, what you need to take to each accommodation etc. we thought we’d compile a (fairly) comprehensive list of what we know about the academies. If you’ve got something to add, or if you’ve noticed any errors, email [email protected].
