Student Staff Liason Committee (SSLC)

What is SSLC?

This is an open forum for any student on the MBChB program to come and raise or address issues with the members of faculty staff, hence a direct contact to those runing the course. Meetings are held every term and attended by the Dean of the faculty of medicine and dentistry (Prof Gareth Williams).

How do I raise an issue?

Simply email vice@galenicals.org.uk to raise an issue and it will be put on the agenda for the next meeting where you yourself can discuss it directly with the relevent staff member. If you are interested in an issue which is being raised by another individual feel free to come along and have your say.

Who Attends the meeting?

The Faculty Dean, various members of the galenicals committee, including the vice president who’s role at the meeting is to act as seretary. Also any member of staff who has a vested interest in the topics to be discussed are invited to attend or make a statement in respnse to the student’s issue. Finally any student who wants to attend is welcome!

Where do I find out what has previously been discussed at the SSLC?

We publish the minutes here, as do the faculty on their own website.
