Preclinical Vice President Job Description


This is very varied, busy but really enjoyable role that requires you to work closely with the president and clinical vice president in particular. The role involves:

  • Being a point of contact for any concerns of a welfare nature for pre-clinical years.
  • Being approachable and maintaining an awareness of the structure and content of the preclinical years as you will be asked about work, exams, good library books etc.
  • Organising the Mums and Dads scheme and working with the ents reps to organise a great Mums’ and Dads’ night.
  • Organising 4th year tutors for the preclinical families with the clinical vice president and encouraging tutor groups to meet up at least once a term.
  • Working with the pre-med, first and second year reps and the Student Advisor (Ros Forge) to ensure that the needs & concerns of preclinical years are being met.
  • Attending a variety of regular meetings with various groups from the faculty (attendance is shared between the president and vice presidents).
  • Working with the clinical vice president to organise and run medic’s Fresh in October.
  • Maintaining and update welfare pages of web-site with clinical welfare and the webmaster.
